Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment Review:

This review is for one of my holy grail skincare items – the Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment! I have been using this for years, over a decade, and it has not failed me! No matter what stage of life I have been in or what skincare I have tried, I always go back to this and keep some of it at hand!

I usually get this at CVS but mass retailers like Amazon also carry it. Not only is it accessible, it is also super affordable and works extremely well!

Ingredients:
Active: Salicylic Acid 2%
Inactive: Alcohol Denat. Water, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Polyacrylamide, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, C13-14 Isoparaffin, C12-15 Alkyl Lactate, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Cetyl Lactate, PPG-2 Isoceteth-20 Acetate, Cocamidopropyl PG-Dimonium Chloride Phosphate, Laureth-7, Polysorbate 20, Phenethyl Dimethicone, Fragrance, Dehydroxanthan Gum, Propylene Glycol, Benzalkonium Chloride, Ammonia, Tetrasodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Capryloyl Glycine, Sarcosine, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Extract, Cedrus Atlantica Bark Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract
Upsides:
- The Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment is marketed as “works fast to help reduce the visible signs of acne” and I can 100% vouch for this after using it for over a decade! This absolutely works really fast to reduce my breakouts/acne and typically takes about a day for me to notice a difference.
- The active ingredient in this treatment is salicylic acid in this treatment and it has 2% which works really well for my skin. I have oily/resilient skin type so this does not over-dry my skin.
- If I am about to experience a breakout, I try to use the Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment before it gets bad and that is usually enough time for it to get it under control before it even starts!
- The company markets the Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment as being safe to use up to 3 times a day. I have definitely used it twice a day before, especially when the breakout/acne was really bad and this did not dry out my skin. The company does also market this as an oil-free formula that won’t over-dry the skin and suitable for normal, oily, and combination skin.
- The Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment is super affordable. Currently, it’s $10.49 at CVS, but there is a promo for Buy 1, Get 1 40% Off (as of August 27, 2021).
Downsides:
- The only downside I can think of is the potential for this to over-dry skin if you have dry skin and also overuse this. Otherwise, it will work very well!
As always, I will always include upsides and downsides to all reviews. The Clean & Clear Acne Spot Treatment has been one of my HG from day one and over the years, it has continued to be a reliable and effective treatment for my acne/breakouts! I would 10/10 recommend it!
