KORA Organics Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment Mask Review:

So I got a deluxe size of the KORA Organics Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment Mask from Sephora to try out. I am always looking for good skincare products, especially masks and exfoliants!

I have mixed feelings about this treatment mask which can also be used as a scrub.

Upsides:
- The KORA Organics Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment Mask is a 2-in-1 product that exfoliates and brightens skin tone. Products that have more than one purpose (without compromising the integrity of one of the purposes) is always a win for me because I don’t like to use a ton of skincare products. For me, less is more and if I try to overdo it with a ton of products, I get adverse reactions and results. So, to have both an exfoliant that clears the skin and a brightening treatment in one product is a plus!
- After I used this, I did notice a slight difference and brightening effect on my skin tone. The KORA Organics Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment Mask has turmeric (duh!) as an ingredient which is well known to have brightening effects on the skin!
- The exfoliation from the KORA Organics Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment Mask did remove some dead skin and cleared up some of the blemishes on my skin.
- This product can be used as both a mask and/or a scrub! I used it as a scrub the first couple of times and then a mask when I had more time. Overall, it’s always nice to have products that you can use in two different ways depending on how much time you have!
Downsides:
- The exfoliation/granules in the KORA Organics Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment Mask were rougher than I would like for my skin. It also looks like other people have similar concerns – that the exfoliation was too rough – in reviews I have seen so far. Sometimes it’s better to have gentler exfoliation, otherwise you risk stripping your skin too much which ends up being counter-productive.
- This product had a scent that was a little stronger than I prefer. It wasn’t a bad smell and you can get used to it, though!
- The KORA Organics Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment Mask full size version (3.38 Oz) costs $48.00 on Sephora (as of August 27, 2021). The price is too high for a product that does have some significant downsides.
As always, I will always include upsides and downsides to all reviews. The KORA Organics Turmeric BHA Brightening Treatment Mask has both upsides and downsides for me. Although I did notice the brightening and polished differences on my skin, the exfoliation is still too rough for my skin. I am not going to purchase the full-size but would consider picking it up if there was a sale or the price is lowered. At that price point, there are better exfoliants + brightening treatments out there!
